Maulud Nabi Celebration 2010

In conjunction with the upcoming Prophet Muhammad’s (pbuh) birthday celebrations, government ministries and departments all over the country held dzikir recitals to mark the upcoming celebrations every night.

Among the objectives of the event was to remember the journey of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) in which 12 Rabiulawal (the third month in the Islamic lunar calendar of Hijrah), the date of his birth, marked the beginning of the propagation of Islam to the world.

Bruneians all over the country celebrated Maulud Nabi on February 26 Friday but changed to 27th Saturday. Thats including SOAS College which involved in the processions.

On the morning of 27th February 2010, Brunei Darussalam celebrated birthday anniversary of Prophet Muhammad SAW with mass gatherings and processions in all four districts.

SOAS College celebrated Maulud Nabi early March 2010. The event was held in our auditorium, started with recitation of Holy Quran by one of the students from 9SC1. Then continued with speech given by our principal followed with ceramah by representative from Jabatan Pusat Dakwah, Ustazah Dk Norhayati Pg Hj Kasran. Then everyone in the hall recited the dzikir and the event ended with doa' by our own TP teacher from KUPUS.

Lion dance in SOASC

In conjunction with Chinese New Year celebration last 16th February, SOAS College invited a Lion Dance performance by Chung Hwa Middle School. The event started with few words from our principal, Pg Zahari Pg Hj Ahmad then the show was on!

Chinese students and teachers were so enjoy with the show and so relief after days of teaching and studying.

FORM 5 2010 PARENTS BRIEFING

There was Parent Briefing for Menengah 5 held at the auditorium, SOAS College on last month, friday 5th February 2010. The briefing started with the recitation of doa by Ustaz Sufri then welcoming speech, delivered by the principal, Pg Zahari Pg Hj Ahmad.

The briefing included the introduction of teachers who are teaching Menengah 5 in 2010, more information and important dates for parents to know example: revision slots, night studies and examinations that will be held in SOASC for Menengah 5. The aim of the briefing is to alert parents with what will be happening during this year as to prepare the students to confront the O-level exam in October.

By the end of the briefing, there was question and answer session then enclosed with the recitation of doa selamat. Parents were invited to enjoy the meal provided.

Activity SOASC on January

On 4th January 2010, Year 9 briefing is held at SOASC Auditorium. It was started with recitation of doa selamat then speech delivered by our principal, Pg Zahari Pg Hj Ahmad.

On 5th January 2010, morning Elite Year 7 briefing is held at SOASC Auditorium. It started with recitation of doa selamat then speech delivered by our principal, Pg Zahari Pg Hj Ahmad.Then students go to their class with parents and form teacher.

On afternoon, the Year 7 Normal briefing is held at SOASC Auditorium. It started with recitation of Doa Selamat then speech delivered by our principal, Pg Zahari Pg Hj Ahmad. Then the student go to their class with parents and form teacher.
